7:30 a.m.
After pickup from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the morning or afternoon (depending on option selected), travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels and follow your guide on a tour of the tunnels. Learn how the Viet Cong soldiers used the vast network of underground tunnels during the Vietnam War.
Step inside the tunnels and see the former war bunkers, ammunition stores, and field hospitals. Then pose for photos peeking out of a camouflaged trapdoor, climb aboard an old American army tank, or visit the shooting range (optional: own expense).
Pick up at your hotel in Saigon.A pleasant 60 km drive through many beautiful paddy fields heading northwest of Saigon, you are going to visit a massive underground network located near by the area once called “Iron Triangle” and was the termination of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
On Arrival. We start our walking tour to Underground Bunker for Black and white Cuchi Gerrilla Fighters Propaganda Documentary film in English for about 15 minutes ( You can skip if you dont want to)
Walking tour on dirt road trail through the jungle to see Cu Chi Secret Entrance, B52 Bomb crators, Booby traps. Keep walking you will find many ventilations air holes ( oxygen supply system for the Tunnels networks). Short stop to see American Destroyed Tank M41.
Move to Jungle Gallery to view all kind of metal traps recycling from American bomb shells or materials. Visit underground weapon worshop to understand how Vietcong made all kind of traps and land mines by hand. Passing “ National Defense Shooting Range” where you can purchase to fire some old Rifles ( On your option and your own account).
It is time to go in the Tunnels with your local guide (Having his flashlight) from underground fighting bunkers to hospital bunkers ( you can go out through their exit routes in every 20 m long if you do not want to any further and deeper..). Stop to sample and tea break with Vietcong Food – steamed tapioca roots and Vietcong hot tea. Learning about underground kitchen and underground dining room.
The tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters. The role of the tunnel systems was so important to the Viet Cong in resisting American operations and protracting the war, eventually persuading the weary Americans into withdrawal.
We return Saigon for Lunch at The Best Pho in Saigon.
